About Dina Monk
Dina Monk is a born and raised Chicagoan. After graduating from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a BFA in Acting, she returned to the Windy City, where she has since been incredibly fortunate to perform with Montana Shakespeare in the Parks, Windy City Playhouse, Commission Theatre, the arc theatre, Prop Thtr, Living Room Playmakers, First Folio Theatre, and the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival.
Dina is currently the Ellie/Lauren understudy in Southern Gothic at Windy City Playhouse South. The Chicago Tribune lists Southern Gothic as one of "The 5 hottest shows to see now" https://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/theater/ct-ent-ott-recomend...
From October 24 to November 17, you can catch Dina in The Madness of Edgar Allan Poe: A Love Story with Oak Park Festival Theatre. For more information about the project, go to the "What's New" section of the website!
When Dina's not on the stage, she's a counselor and teacher at Infinity Arts Academy, where she teaches kids ranging from 5-17 how to approach monologues and scenes in private lessons and aiding them in their full-scale musicals. She's also a production assistant for Brave New Pictures, Inc., a media production company which specializes in creating television programming, digital photography and exhibition videos for a wide range of clients. With this company, she has traveled to places beyond her wildest dreams. Her most memorable onsite trips include Turkey, India, Nepal, South Korea, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and the islands of Indonesia.
Dina loves bonding with her friends and family, watching period dramas, reading plays, long distance running (away from her problems), and walking her neighbor’s boxer puppy, Kitty, around her neighborhood.
