Howdy, I’m Dina Monk!
Before we jump in:
My name is pronounced Dee-nuh - if you call me Dinah, I’ll start singing about someone being in the kitchen with me.
I’m not related to Adrian Monk, the Obsessive-Compulsive Detective. However, did I watch the show because of our connection? Absolutely.

Glad you stopped by! Pull up a chair. Happy to have ya. A little bit about me: I’m a born & raised Chicagoan, and received my BFA in Acting from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I also studied with the British American Drama Academy in association with the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to perform with theatre companies such as Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Remy Bumppo Theatre Company, Raven Theatre, Montana Shakes!, Oak Park Festival Theatre, Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival, and many more. I play Dr. Simmons on the newest season of Chicago Fire on NBC, and if you’re ever in Houston, you can find me in the IMAX film Dinosaur Discoveries: A Holographic Adventure, currently playing at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
Most days, you can find me in various hospitals around Chicago teaching bedside manner to medical students as a Standardized Patient. Or you can try and spot me along the lakefront as I train for my next race. I’m proud to say I ran the Chicago Marathon twice while raising funds for PAWS, and I’m always looking for the next adventure. As a local hire to New York City, Los Angeles, Cincinnati, Orlando, and London, I’m hoping that next adventure will be just around the corner!
Thanks again for perusing the site. If you get lost, just give me a holler!
